An educational opportunity is available for experienced Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students in the Baltimore, MD area. This full-time, contract position offers a rewarding chance to make a significant difference within a school dedicated to students with visual impairments. The role is based in Westminster, MD, and requires mitment throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique educational needs of visually impaired students.
  • Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to foster learning and independence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure prehensive student development.
  • Utilize assistive technologies and low-vision aids to facilitate classroom participation.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor progress to update instructional strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) credential or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in K-12 educational settings with visually impaired students.
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment-related educational practices and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team.
  • mitment to a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week over the normal school year.
