Position Title: Long- Term Middle School Math Substitute Teacher
Department: CamdenForward School (CFS)
Reports to: CFS Principal
Salary: $44, 500- $50,000 Benefits + 401 (K) to include summers off + Total Rewards Package -$
Timeframe: August 19, 2025 – December 17, 2025

Middle School Math Teacher Substitute – Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Planning & Instruction
- Develop and implement weekly math lesson plans aligned with the CamdenForward School curriculum, New Jersey State Standards, and Common Core guidelines.
- Establish clear learning objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and effectively communicate these objectives to students.
- Design and deliver instruction using a variety of strategies including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, student-led activities, and technology to optimize student engagement and understanding.
- Incorporate educational tools such as teacher-prepared materials, charts, models, and digital resources to enhance instruction.
- Assessment & Differentiation
- Administer standardized assessments to evaluate students’ abilities and achievement levels; analyze data to inform instruction and identify individual learning needs.
- Provide targeted small group or individualized instruction to meet diverse student needs and to support differentiated learning within a dynamic classroom environment.
- Instructional Excellence
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of math content and effective pedagogy.
- Integrate technology meaningfully into math instruction to support student learning and engagement.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance in tackling challenging tasks.
- Character & Classroom Culture
- Serve as a model of strong character and professionalism by consistently demonstrating qualities such as enthusiasm, integrity, courtesy, flexibility, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
- Prepare students for future academic success by encouraging a growth mindset and a love of learning.
- Communication & Family Engagement
- Regularly communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, identify priorities, and collaborate on strategies to support academic and social development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including grades and progress reports, in accordance with school policies and administrative guidelines.
- School Life & Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively with fellow staff members to contribute to a positive, creative, and mission-aligned work environment.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and special programs, including fundraising and community engagement efforts.
Professional Development

- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops to enhance instructional skills and stay current with best practices in education.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Support the broader mission of UrbanPromise Ministries with special events, staff meeting participation in performance management process and organization goals. To comply with all employees and communicable disease polices. Teammember must have a commitment to flexibility, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Education Degree Preferred.
EXPERIENCE
At least two years of experience teaching urban youth.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to work with diverse urban students
In-depth understanding of and commitment to the organization’s vision and mission
PREFERRED SKILLS Middle School Math Teacher Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Teachers are expected to perform duties and responsibilities of a physical nature. A physical examination by a medical doctor that includes proof of TB and Hepatitis test must be provided if hired.
