Start Date: August 2025

School: Terra School is in Serenbe, an idyllic community nestled among preserved forests and meadows in South Fulton county. Just 45 minutes outside of Atlanta, we opened our new campus in August, 2023 with state-of-art 1500 square foot classrooms and attached outdoor learning spaces. As a community-based STEAM school, we serve families from a range of cities and towns in Fulton, Coweta, Carroll and Fayette counties.

We currently have 240 students and offer programs spanning from 8 weeks through 12th grade. Our goal is to nurture students who thrive in a diverse and ever-evolving world, equipped with resilience, intellectual humility, an ethical compass, and boundless curiosity.

Position: Terra School at Serenbe is seeking a Montessori Assistant Teacher for our Infant/Nido classroom. In this role, you’ll be supporting our youngest learners during the most formative stage of development. As an Infant Assistant, you’ll help create a nurturing, calm, and safe environment where babies can explore, move freely, and develop trust in their surroundings. You’ll work closely with lead teachers to provide individualized care, respond to each infant’s needs, and encourage the natural milestones of infancy—like movement, language, and independence. This position is all about being a gentle, attentive presence in the classroom, helping each child feel secure and supported as they begin their journey of learning and discovery.

Responsibilities: ● Environmental Support: Help set up and maintain a calm, welcoming space designed just for infants. Make sure the environment is safe, soothing, and rich with age-appropriate materials that invite gentle exploration. ● Gentle Guidance: Support the lead teacher in creating a peaceful atmosphere where babies feel secure and valued. Observe each infant closely and respond with sensitivity, following the Montessori approach to meet their individual needs. ● Fostering Early Independence: Encourage infants as they practice new skills—like reaching, grasping, or self-soothing—always respecting their unique pace and readiness. ● Daily Care and Routines: Assist with feeding, diapering, comforting, and rest time. Be attentive to the subtle cues and routines of each infant, making sure every child feels nurtured and cared for. ● Supporting Learning: Engage infants in meaningful Montessori activities that foster early development, such as tummy time, language-rich interactions, and sensory exploration. ● Classroom Operations: Perform miscellaneous duties to support classroom operations, i.e. rest-time, lunch, outside time, diapering, feeding. ● Following teacher-provided lesson plans in the event of a teacher's absence. Preferred

● Help children by giving them the tools to be independent

● Are open to guiding your colleagues, and being guided by them in turn

● Are eager to partner with parents on their child's journey

● Take pride in your work

● Get energized and inspired by working with young children!
