Schedule: Full-Time (Wed–Sat, 10:00am–8:00pm)
Wage: $20.66–$34.07/hr DOE

Compass Health is seeking a Peer Counselor / Family Support Partner to join our South Team within the Child, Youth & Family Crisis Team (CYFCT). This is an exciting opportunity to use your lived experience to support families and caregivers navigating behavioral health crises. You’ll provide strength-based, culturally responsive peer support services in home, school, and community settings to promote hope, recovery, and resilience.
About the Program
The CYFCT provides short-term, community-based crisis intervention and stabilization for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Using trauma-informed, solution-focused, and recovery-oriented practices, the team responds to behavioral health crises wherever they occur—homes, shelters, schools—helping families stabilize and access ongoing support in the least restrictive environment.
What You’ll Do

Provide emotional support and validation to clients and caregivers based on shared life experiences.

Mentor youth and families in recovery and encourage self-advocacy, resilience, and personal growth.

Assist in identifying and accessing natural supports, community resources, and behavioral health services.

Offer hope, guidance, and perspective through storytelling, active listening, and role modeling.

Support families in navigating systems of care and collaborating with service providers.

Partner with the clinical team in treatment planning and client advocacy.

Maintain accurate documentation and participate in regular team meetings and supervision.
What You Bring
-
Personal experience as a youth or caregiver navigating behavioral health services is required.

Peer Counselor Certification (Washington State) preferred; certification training must be completed within 90 days of hire.

High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/BA preferred.

Valid WA State Driver’s License with vehicle and appropriate insurance.

Must apply for Washington DOH Agency Affiliated Counselor status upon hire, if not already credentialed.
