Job Title: Instructor Trainer 3
Client: State of Texas – Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
Location: 701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751
Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site Tue–Thu, Remote Mon & Fri)
Pay Range (Austin, TX): $45–$55/hour (based on experience)
Duration: Contract position
Position Overview:
The Texas HHSC is seeking an experienced Instructor Trainer 3 to support training initiatives for its Grants Management System (GMS) built on Salesforce. This position is key in developing and delivering role-based and scenario-based training materials for internal and external users of the platform. The ideal candidate has a strong instructional design background, excellent presentation skills, and the flexibility to train across various formats and software.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver in-person and web-based technical training programs.

Develop written, recorded, and webinar-style training materials.

Create course outlines, instructional aids, and multimedia content.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert complex software processes into digestible curriculum.

Assess user needs and adapt content for different learning audiences.

Lead live training sessions for both agency and external users.

Maintain and revise training documentation, guides, and job aids.

Assist in formatting and finalizing content produced by other trainers.

Support internal productivity and reporting tasks.
Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in training instruction, curriculum development, and instructional design.

Strong technical training background across various software platforms.

Proven ability to create engaging training content, both written and multimedia.

Proficiency with eLearning tools, LMS platforms, and the MS Office Suite.

Comfortable delivering hybrid training formats.

Local to the Austin, TX area – no relocation or remote-only candidates.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field.

4+ years developing IT-focused training for desktop support, SaaS, or cloud-based systems.

Experience with Salesforce and accessibility standards (EIR/ADA compliance).

Exceptional written, verbal, and facilitation skills.
