Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years deaf & hard of hearing experience required.

This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for an extended school year program serving elementary and secondary students. Based in the Seattle area, this position spans approximately four weeks from early July through the beginning of August. The schedule includes four days per week, with five instructional hours each day, providing focused support to students with hearing challenges.

Key qualifications include holding a valid Washington State Teaching License with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Credential. Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing is essential to effectively address their individual learning needs and communication methods. Strong collaboration skills will contribute to supporting student development alongside families and other educators.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering specialized instructional plans tailored to students unique hearing needs
  • Utilizing a range of teaching methodologies and assistive technologies to enhance learning access
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting strategies for maximum educational benefit
  • Communicating with families and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student success
