Position Overview:
The Redford School District is seeking a compassionate, student-centered, and collaborative Part-Time School Psychologist to serve students in grades K12. This role is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is committed to promoting the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success of all learners.
The School Psychologist will work as an integral part of the districts student support and special education teams to assess student needs, provide targeted interventions, and contribute to data-driven decision-making. With a flexible part-time schedule (2025 hours per week), this position is ideal for professionals seeking work-life balance while making a meaningful impact in a diverse, inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations for students suspected of having educational disabilities

Interpret assessment data and communicate findings clearly to parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams

Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings, assisting with eligibility determinations and educational planning

Provide short-term counseling, behavioral support, and crisis intervention services as needed

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions

Support school-wide MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) frameworks

Consult with parents and staff regarding student learning, emotional regulation, behavior, and mental health concerns

Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate that promotes student well-being and success

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines (IDEA, Section 504, FERPA)
Required Qualifications:
-
Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-accredited program

Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification

Experience with psychoeducational assessments, report writing, and IEP development

Strong understanding of special education law, MTSS frameworks, and culturally responsive practices

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with K12 students in an urban or suburban public school setting

Familiarity with digital assessment tools (e.g., Q-interactive, Pearson Assessments)
