A contract opportunity is available for a School Psychologist supporting an elementary school environment in Elgin, IL, from August 26, 2024, through June 10, 2025. This position follows the school calendar with hours from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The role involves managing a caseload serving approximately 380 elementary students. Responsibilities include conducting initial and re-evaluations for special education eligibility, participating actively in team meetings, and providing data review support for students within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). The psychologist will also assist students experiencing crises but will not provide IEP therapy minutes or direct sessions with students. Additionally, this role offers support for parochial school evaluations and re-evaluations under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience conducting assessments and evaluations in an elementary school setting
- Knowledge of special education eligibility processes and MTSS frameworks
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and district staff
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and student support
- Familiarity with parochial school education systems is a plus
