Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available for a full-time, contracted role at a middle school located in Roanoke, VA. This opportunity spans the current school year and offers a dynamic classroom environment supporting students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support within general education and resource classrooms.
- Provide push-in services to a group of 15-16 middle school students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to supporting the academic and social growth of students with disabilities.
Work Schedule:
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Contracted for the current school year.
