Summary of Position: The Lead Behavioral Health Provider Trainer utilizes their experience in providing first line software and workflow support for behavioral health providers. This person throughout the organizations behavioral health department fosters collaborative relationships, working closely with the behavioral health staff in providing training to advance the use of technology and streamline workflows. Primary responsibility includes developing, maintaining, instructing and supporting the provider onboarding training program. This individual will work with providers to optimize their usage of clinical computer systems, instruct on organizational documentation and practice guidelines. Training efforts will address Federal and State mandates, quality outcomes and will support organizational goals. In addition, the selected individual will continue to engage in direct patient care working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to facilitate the provision of holistic, whole-person behavioral healthcare for all Kintegra patients.

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledgeable in population health management in the underserved and/or vulnerable populations. Understands ethics of confidentiality. Previous computer experience or training required. Ability to maintain working relationships. Knowledge and observation of standards of medical care. Efficient, organized and accurate. Ability to stand for extended. Sitting and standing for long periods of time. Frequent walking for short distances. Repetitive motion work with keyboards and some limited physical activity.

Experience: Three years of behavioral health/mental health related work experience with participation in leadership opportunities (e.g. committees, learning collaboratives, etc).

Travel: Willingness and ability to travel throughout Kintegra service area, providing training and support for behavioral health team

Education: Masters’ Degree required

Certification(s)/Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker Certification in good standing with the Social Work Certification and Licensure Board of North Carolina (or equivalent). Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Certification in good standing with the Licensure Board of North Carolina (or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the organization’s electronic health record and other related clinical software.
  • Maintain knowledge and adherence to organizational documentation guidelines and practice requirements.
  • Plan and implement provider training/orientation schedule.
  • Complete and communicate provider training evaluation outcomes with leadership.
  • Coordinate tasks and activities with orientation department stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Quality and Informatics department to incorporate regulatory and policy training in the onboarding process.
  • Work closely with the Health Information Management supervisor to incorporate coding and documentation standards in the onboarding process.
  • Provide workflow and clinical systems training and instruction to support new and existing providers towards increasing their competence and confidence in the use of the clinical software systems and documentation.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for usage of the electronic health record and clinical systems.
  • Provide training and on-going support for new and revised processes and clinical system updates as needed.
  • Ensure providers are informed of new or modified processes to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Will remain active in clinical role providing evidence-based assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services for patients with a variety of behavioral and chronic health conditions.
  • Engages in continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance professional competence relevant to medical, substance use and legal issues that impact patient care.
