Overview:

We are hiring a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide remote instructional support and services to K12 students with visual impairments across school districts in Colorado. This fully virtual role offers flexibility while making a lasting impact on student learning and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments using online platforms

• Adapt and deliver general education content using accessible formats and assistive technology

• Support development of skills in areas such as Braille, orientation and mobility (in coordination with specialists), and daily living

• Collaborate with IEP teams, families, and school staff to support individual student goals

• Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed

• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute to evaluations and plans

• Ensure compliance with Colorado Department of Education regulations and local district procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments

• Valid Colorado teaching license with TVI endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)

• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired

• Proficiency with assistive technology, including screen readers, Braille devices, and digital accessibility tools

• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with virtual instruction or distance learning

• Knowledge of Colorado special education laws and compliance requirements

• Familiarity with a range of visual impairments and instructional strategies
