Summary

Little Sandpipers Preschool, a boutique-style, brand-new preschool located in Summerville, is looking for dedicated Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants to join our team! Se habla espanol!

Duties

Lead teacher duties:

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. We provide our teachers with a curriculum that is easy to navigate and implement!
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Reports to the facility Director directly
  • Quarterly meetings with staff



Assistant Teachers duties:

  • We provide our teachers with a curriculum that is easy to navigate and implement!

  • Supports Lead Teacher in daily operations of the classroom and in lesson plans
  • Reports to the facility Director directly
  • Quarterly meetings with staff



Requirements

Lead teacher requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching in a state-licensed early childhood education facility
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Fun and nurturing personality
  • Desire to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Must be able to pass a background check, health screening and TB test
  • Attend staff meetings and training
  • Must be available to work 8 hour work shifts Monday - Friday



Assistant Teachers requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months of experience teaching in a state-licensed early childhood education facility
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Fun and nurturing personality
  • Desire to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Must be able to pass a background check, health screening and TB test
  • Attend staff meetings and training
  • Must be available to work 8 hour work shifts Monday - Friday
