This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support an elementary-level summer program starting July 7, 2025, with extension into the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis. Serving students with diverse learning needs, this role focuses on delivering individualized instruction and fostering inclusive classroom environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create adaptive learning strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to promote academic and social development
- Maintain detailed records on student performance and behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support a positive, engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with special needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction and use adaptive teaching methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student advocacy and inclusive education
Location: Auburn, ME
