RMCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to support students in grades 4 through 8. The ideal candidate will provide guidance, support, and resources to help students navigate their academic, social, and emotional challenges. This role is essential in fostering a positive school environment and promoting student well-being.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Colorado Department of Education License or endorsement in School Counseling.
- Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children.
Requirements:
- Plans and maintains an effective comprehensive school counseling program.
- Facilitates the infusion of counseling curriculum activities into classroom curricula to support the developmental needs of 4th - 8th grade students.
- Counsels with students to promote self-awareness, positive mental health, and positive social and academic skills.
- Systematically develop, deliver, and evaluate student planning addressing academic goal setting and transition plans to middle school.
- Provide individual counseling to students with identified concerns and needs.
- Implement a referral process and follow up process to outside counseling agencies and support agencies.
- Provide information to staff and parents to assist them in crises related issues that may affect the school climate.
- Consult and coordinate with in-school professionals and community agencies, such as school psychologist, nurses, administrators, community based counselors, service agencies, and physicians.
- Engages in professional development.
- Adheres to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the school counseling profession.
- Conducts a yearly program audit to review extent of program implementation.
- Collects and analyzes data to guide program direction and emphasis. Measures results of the school counseling program activities and shares results as appropriate.
- Assist to maintain a safe and organized school climate as directed by administration.
- Create and maintain student schedules in PowerSchool.
- Monitors Safe2tell submissions and responds accordingly.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of child development and counseling techniques.
- Experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and common software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite, as well as data management.
