An opportunity is available for dedicated professionals specializing in educational support for students with visual impairments. This part-time position focuses on providing tailored instruction and resources to enhance the learning experiences of K-12 students in a school setting located in Portales, NM.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Mexico state teaching license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS).
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with visual impairments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
  • Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement appropriate teaching strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to create a comprehensive support system for each student.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to inform IEP goals and adjustments.
  • Provide training and resources to classroom staff on strategies to support students with visual impairments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and participation in educational activities.
