Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with instructional assistants and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Use evidence-based strategies to enhance communication skills, social interactions, and independent living skills among students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Maintain professional documentation and participate in staff meetings and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia teaching license or eligibility.
- Experience working with students with autism, particularly in an elementary setting.
- Strong understanding of various teaching methodologies and IEP development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
