SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with daily grooming, grading, and conditioning of the track surface.
- Operate equipment such as harrows, water trucks, tractors, and graders.
- Monitor track surface conditions for safety, drainage, and consistency.
- Assist in weather-related preparation (e.g., sealing after rain, post-storm recovery).
- Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Maintaining a professional working relationship among all personnel.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the department.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, farming, or track maintenance (preferred).
- Familiarity with agricultural or construction equipment operation.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong physical stamina; capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working long hours, especially on race days.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as racing schedules require.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
