Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

This opportunity is for full-time special education teachers to support high school students in autism-focused and moderate intellectual disabilities (MOID) classrooms. The roles are contract positions for the uping school year and are based in Douglas County, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with autism and moderate intellectual disabilities.
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents, therapists, and other educators, to support student growth.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in regular case conferences.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and social development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in special education.
  • Experience working with high school students, particularly those with autism spectrum disorders and MOID.
  • Strong munication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and empathetically with students, families, and staff.
