Pay is $16.00/hour. This position operates on an on-call basis, which means you will be contacted as needed to fulfill duties. Consequently, your schedule can fluctuate from day to day, offering a dynamic work environment. While this may require adaptability, it also grants you significant flexibility, allowing you to balance your work commitments with personal time more effectively.
Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role as part of the classroom team, working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational services for all children and their families. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where the safety and supervision of infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children take precedence. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for organizing and implementing engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of the children in their care, as well as establishing supportive relationships with each child to promote their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Additionally, they must be adaptable, communicating effectively with permanent staff and families, and maintaining consistent routines to provide stability for the children during the absence of the regular teacher.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must complete CPR/First Aid Training within 90 days of hire
- Must complete Food Handlers permit within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate Preschool Credential
- Previous Head Start experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
