Lake Mead Christian Ministries (LMCM) Minister - Pre-Algebra & Algebra 1 Teacher
Teacher Job Type: Full Time
Department: (LMCA) Academy - Middle School
Reports to: Middle School Principal
Compensation: $40,000-$46,000 based on experience and degree
Job Summary: LMCA Middle school teachers typically teach six class periods (bells) daily - students attend eight (8) classes daily. Teachers prepare one lesson plan for up to 3 different subjects. Typically the same subject is taught to three different groups of students of the same grade level (i.e. three classes of 8th grade science ). Additional duties may include lunch supervision and dismissal supervision once a week. Teachers are required to attend monthly team meetings, which take place in the afternoon (3:00 - 3:45 PM), and a monthly Bible meeting which takes place in the morning (7:00 - 7:30 AM). LMCA Middle School hosts three after-school events (Movie night, Neon night, and Water Wars). We ask middle school teachers to attend these events for connection and supervision. Lake Mead Christian Academy primarily uses the BJU Press curriculum for our core subjects. Please review the Core Curriculum Guide for Middle School for more information.
Essential Job Functions (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develops assessments that establish student performance and progress.
- Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Uses relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures as per established policies.
- Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Provides appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourages and monitors the progress of individual students and uses information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of student's progress and development. (LMCA utilizes FACTS SIS - training will be provided)
- Prepares required reports on students and activities.
- Participates in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepares the classroom for class activities.
- Provides a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Observe and evaluate students' performance and development. Assigns and grades class work, homework, tests, and assignments.

Requirements:
Qualifications: Candidates must hold, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in education or in a related field.
Experience: Candidates must have experience in student teaching, substitute teaching, or classroom aide.
