Lead innovative visual impairment education as a Virtual TVI! We're recruiting an experienced professional to deliver prehensive specialized instruction to students with visual impairments throughout Ohio's diverse educational systems.
Professional Role
This remote position offers the opportunity to provide essential visual impairment education services through state-of-the-art virtual platforms. You'll support students with varying degrees of visual impairment while working collaboratively with educational teams to promote academic success and independence.
Essential Duties
- Specialized instruction in pensatory academic skills
- Braille reading and writing instruction
- Assistive technology training and implementation
- Functional vision assessment and evaluation
- Orientation and mobility skill development
- Curriculum adaptation and modification
- IEP development and implementation support
- Professional consultation and training services
Student Services Focus
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments including total blindness, low vision, and multiple disabilities with visual impairment. Services enpass academic skill development, independent living skills, and transition planning across all educational levels.
Required Credentials
- Master's degree in Visual Impairment Education
- Valid Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired license
- Minimum 2 years of TVI experience
- Braille petency and assistive technology expertise
- Knowledge of orientation and mobility principles
- Technology proficiency for virtual service delivery
