Providing occupational therapy services in a part-time role within a K-12 school setting offers the opportunity to support students development in critical areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care. This position involves working primarily with elementary students while also serving some secondary-aged students, helping ensure they can fully participate alongside their peers in classroom activities.
Location: Elgin, IL
Schedule: Part-time, 15 hours per week
Contract Duration: August 11, 2025 May 21, 2026
Orientation: August 4-5, paid
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student participation in classroom activities by addressing fine motor, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care challenges
- Modify tasks or environments to meet student needs effectively
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as needed
- Prepare clear and prehensive reports detailing student assessments and observations
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives and acmodations
- Collaborate and municate effectively with parents, teachers, and peers regarding student progress and support requirements
Qualifications:
- Hold or be qualified to hold an Illinois state occupational therapy license
- Strong munication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to individual student needs
