Summary
This program, Spiritual Play, is comprised of multiage groups (ages 3-5 and 6-9) where fostering a sense and curiosity as seen as a vital component of spirituality.Children participate in numerous activities to experience spirituality including art, music, yoga, storytelling, nature exploration and community service.Exploration of a variety of spiritual traditions is an integral part of this program.This role prioritizes actively listening to children, encouraging their curiosity,and participating in their explorations.
Duties
·Assist and participate in creating a flexible, experiential program,
·Assist and participate in creating a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
·Establishingrapport with children and families participating in the program
·Supporting children in the development of spirituality, relationships, and values
·Engaging in providing a foundation to foster curiosity and learning, in accordance with each child’s ability
·Assist in planning and implementing techniques to guide our participants through a variety of activities designed to promote the verbal, social, physical, spiritual and intellectual growth of children
·Assist in guiding Program Volunteers present in the program
·Attend in-service training sessions, planning and other related meetings
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Experience with young children ages 3 through 9
Passion for young children who are growing and blooming
Current CPR and First Aid certifications (can be completed upon hiring)
Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card (can be completed upon hiring)
Having a passion for teaching others, helping others learn, and celebrating their success
Ability to solve matters with composure, integrity and compassion
A willingness to learn with children versus needing to directly “teach.”Be a partner with children in exploring and experiencing activities to become aware of the spiritual qualities of the fun things we do.
