Enrollment Specialist I

Warner Pacific- Orange County, CA

The Enrollment Specialist I is primarily responsible for performing enrollment meetings on behalf of the company and our brokers. The Enrollment Specialist I will be required to facilitate in-person, virtual and recorded open enrollment meetings. This job requires a working knowledge of Medical and Ancillary carriers and plans for Small Group, Large Group and Alternative Funding. Required to have knowledge of benefits, enrollment and underwriting guidelines for each carrier. The Enrollment Specialist I operate at an introductory level, with supervision and enhanced direction.

Overview of Responsibilities

Successfully complete the required basic training. Able to perform all job functions with assistance from co-workers, specialists and managers; including but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct timely arrival and planning of enrollment meetings in person, recorded and via zoom. Observations may be conducted to ensure level of execution.
  • Communicate directly with Sales Consultants and Pre-Sales Support Specialist in order to prepare for enrollment meetings. Provide summary of status of meeting once complete.
  • Collect required information for enrollment meeting preparation from Sales Consultants or broker for enrollment meetings and PowerPoint creations with oversight.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate understanding of market factors, carriers, plans, and benefits for the carriers in California.
  • Learning Alternative Funding products in CA in order to fully explain the products at enrollment meetings.
  • Demonstrate ability to navigate and properly use the Company’s website and tools.
  • Generate PROvider Finder and PRORx searches as requested.
  • Proficiency in Zoom and other presentation platforms as needed.
  • Observe and have awareness of the PowerPoint creation process.
  • Participate in team collaboration to help identify enhancements for broker and client open enrollment experiences (includes pre-enrollment communication and presentation).
  • Learning internal workflow.
  • Learning and observing the role of Pre-Sales team members.
  • Provide back up or complete other activities as assigned in other areas within the department/company as needed/requested.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanishin order to conduct bilingual enrollment meetings and presentations.

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Must reside in Southern CA, preferably in either the Los Angeles or in the Orange County area, with the flexibility to travel to Northern CA if needed.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of health care/medical sales/service experience, preferred.
  • Valid California life/health insurance license.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to attend interoffice meetings.
  • Ability to flex and problem solve in fluid situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills- ability to foster open communication channels with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Quick learner of key information.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by management.
  • Must be able to travel 50-70% of time.
  • May require in/out of state multi-day travel.
  • High level planning, organizing and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant, cordial, and professional demeanor with coworkers and brokers; especially when dealing with a heated situation.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, lift a minimum of 5 pounds, file, stand, bend, reach, pull.
  • Must have the ability to work responsibly and independently from home.

Compensation

  • Salary Range* - $21.64/hourly - $28.85/hourly
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
