Summary
As the Infant Room Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 8 weeks to 18 months. You will oversee daily operations of the infant room, ensuring the highest standards of care, development, and safety are maintained at all times.
Duties
1. Child Care and Development:
- Provide loving and responsive care to infants, meeting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, fine and gross motor skill development, language acquisition, and social interaction.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports each child's individual growth and development.
2. Health and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all infants in the room, adhering to health and safety guidelines and licensing standards.
- Conduct daily health checks and maintain cleanliness and organization of the infant room and its equipment.
3. Parent Communication:
- Build positive relationships with parents/guardians through daily interactions, parent-teacher conferences, and regular updates on their child's progress.
- Communicate effectively and professionally, addressing any concerns or questions in a timely manner.
4. Team Collaboration:
- Lead and collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to ensure consistency in care and programming.
- Coordinate daily routines, transitions, and activities to provide a predictable and supportive environment for infants.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of each child's daily activities, milestones, and observations.
- Prepare developmental assessments and progress reports for parents/guardians.
6. Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and infant development.
- Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with infants in a childcare setting.
-Required to have minimum High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferable.
- Certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices for infant care.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with infants and young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative when necessary.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing, bending, lifting, and other physical activities associated with caring for infants.
- Required to work full-time from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
