This part-time opportunity involves working with visually impaired students across grades Pre-K through 12 in a K-12 school setting located in Texico, NM. The role focuses on providing specialized support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) during the 2025-2026 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments from Pre-K to 12th grade
  • Develop and implement educational and mobility plans to enhance students independence and academic progress
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to integrate appropriate accommodations and resources
  • Assess students needs and monitor progress regularly, adapting strategies as necessary
  • Provide training and guidance on visual impairment to school personnel and caregivers

Qualifications:

  • Hold or be eligible for a valid teaching license issued by the Department of Education with endorsements for TVI and OMS
  • Experience working with students across various grade levels, including Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, and High School, is preferred
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a school environment
