Job Description:
Schedule:Monday to Friday
As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will have the opportunity to support and empower students with visual impairments through innovative instruction in a supportive onsite environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in person.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best educational outcomes for students.
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning experiences for students with visual impairments.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to meet individual goals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student progress and IEP documentation.
- Stay current with best practices and research in special education and visual impairment to provide high-quality instruction.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Current California teaching license with endorsement in Visual Impairment or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues in an onsite setting.
