Summary
We are looking for a Teacher for the School Age Room to add to an awesome team at a BRAND-NEW CHILD-CARE FACILITY!
We are creating a much-needed safe space within a local community that has need for a childcare center. We are a small local owned childcare center looking for amazing team members that want to educate, enrich, and help our communities' children learn and grow.
The teacher will be responsible for developing and coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day schedule and operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development to ensure safety and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
The center, Countryside Learning Center, will be open 6:30-5:30
Monday-Friday.
This position is No School Days, Summer, before and after school.
It could be full time for right candidate would be filling in to other classrooms.
Duties
Coordinate and implement educational curriculum and lesson plans by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
·Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
·Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
·Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
·Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
·Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
·Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
·Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
·Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Preform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- Minimum one year of experience working with children in a licensed child development facility.
- Must complete Certification in First Aid/ Infant Child CPR/ AED if not currently hold. Must be maintained by recertification as necessary.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- ·Must have lead teacher certified classes or certification on the Wisconsin Registry
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
- Must be able to stand on their feet for 8-10 hours a day.
- Prolonged periods of standing, and frequent bending.
