Summary
Kids in Motion Academy is hiring a dependable and nurturing Toddler One Closing Teacher to join our team of early childhood professionals. This role is ideal for an educator with a CDA or higher who enjoys working with toddlers ages 12–24 months and is available to work midday to close. The ideal candidate will help guide toddlers through their afternoon routines, support transitions, and ensure a safe and calm end-of-day environment. Duties
- Greet and connect with toddlers warmly during afternoon transitions
- Follow the toddler classroom schedule, including snack time, toileting/diapering, and end-of-day routines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Engage children in calm, age-appropriate activities such as sensory play, storytelling, and music
- Comfort and support children emotionally as they begin to tire or miss family
- Communicate with co-teachers to ensure consistency and hand-off of daily information
- Sanitize toys, high-touch surfaces, and rest areas before closing
- Complete daily reports via Brightwheel (meals, toileting, activities, etc.)
- Ensure all belongings are packed and children are ready for dismissal
- Communicate positively with parents during pick-up and report any important updates
- Stay until all children have been picked up and follow closing checklist procedures
Requirements
DA in Infant/Toddler Care or higher (TCC, Associate’s, or Bachelor's in Early Childhood preferred)
Minimum 1 year of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
Must be 18 years or older
Able to work Monday–Friday,
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
Must pass DECAL fingerprint background check and health screenings
Strong understanding of toddler development and positive guidance techniques
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage in active play
Reliable, flexible, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
Strong communication skills and a calm, patient, and nurturing personality
Nice To Haves
Experience using Brightwheel or other digital parent communication apps
Knowledge of or experience with Montessori-inspired environments
Bilingual (especially Spanish, French, or ASL) to support diverse families
Training in conscious discipline, Love and Logic, or other positive behavior models
Familiarity with Quality Rated standards and Georgia DECAL regulations
Strong classroom organization and end-of-day cleaning routines
Passion for music, art, or sensory play
A warm, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support other classrooms if needed
