San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living
Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences, which offer luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specializing in mental healthcare for older adults (age 55 and over); and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.
Grounded in the Jewish values of dignity, compassion, and community, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living—fondly referred to in the past as "the Jewish Home"—was founded in 1871. Today, 150 years later, it continues to build upon its legacy of enriching the lives of older adults.
Position Overview:
The incumbent is responsible for evaluating and implementing the Education and Quality Improvement Program for Jewish Home and Rehabilitation. This work must align with the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living's mission and strategic goals, as well as comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate all required education programs and expand the Home’s educational offerings to meet future community needs.

Ensure that employees receive necessary compliance training and education aligned with the Jewish Home’s policies and procedures.

Maintain documentation of all training in accordance with state and federal requirements.

Monitor and support the development, implementation, coordination, analysis, and evaluation of assigned quality improvement activities across departments.

Consult with relevant staff and managers on clinical and departmental issues to ensure timely identification, assessment, corrective action, and re-evaluation.

Develop collaborative action plans to address identified quality issues, ensuring ongoing improvement and regulatory compliance.

Conduct orientation programs for new, rehired, and contract employees.

Provide hands-on clinical orientation and instruction to both licensed and unlicensed personnel.

Manage the Employee Health Program.

Assess resident needs in relation to staff competencies and develop appropriate training programs accordingly.

Identify learning needs related to quality improvement and regulatory compliance, collaborating with department managers to design and implement staff training.

Work closely with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADNS) to ensure clinical competency of nursing staff, including conducting annual skills evaluations for licensed nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

Facilitate and support interdisciplinary performance improvement teams to address quality and risk management concerns.

Conduct state- and federally-mandated in-service training programs.

Deliver certification or training programs for Nursing Assistants.

Ensure the educational curriculum meets or exceeds all applicable state, federal, and accreditation standards.

Adhere to the Home’s Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, Corporate Compliance Agreement, relevant laws, and professional standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred

Current California RN or LVN license
-
Valid CPR certification
-
Nurse Educator or Staff Development certification preferred

Up to date with California Continuing Education (CE) requirements

Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience

At least three (3) years in a long-term care setting

One (1) year of instructor experience preferred
