Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Instructional Designer in Suwanee, GA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical HVAC Instructional Designer will design and develop instructional and training materials for Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC’s employees and external-facing customers. The incumbent selects and uses a variety of techniques to determine appropriate methods of delivery and instructional content that reflects the learning goals of the customer. They possess HVAC field experience related to installation and service of split systems or commercial VRF equipment. Responsibilities include the design, development, and implementation of training programs in accordance with company-wide initiatives. In this capacity, the incumbent will identify and arrange suitable design solutions for internal and external clients. In addition, implement learning methodologies to aid in the transfer of learning and evaluate overall training effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and learning objectives for HVAC Professionals
- Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive curriculum for commercial HVAC technician training programs, including both classroom-based and online learning materials
- Functional ability with graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop) in developing and supporting online learning environments
- Knowledge of eLearning tools used in the creation of simulations for tutorials to compliment classroom instruction
- Create storyboards, curriculum outlines, user guides, assessments, facilitator guides and training manuals
- Communicate project plans and articulate roles, project goals, and timelines, while incorporating project lifecycle models
- Conduct assessments and performance analyses to determine training needs
- Work under the supervision of the Program Manager of Instructional Design for final approval of instructional design materials
- Support the Program Manager of Instructional Design in the design, development, execution, and evaluation of a variety of training programs
- Work effectively with managers and Subject Matter Experts across all departments to develop effective job specific training programs to meet their needs
- Identify or develop innovative and creative new learning techniques and teaching aids such as, visual aids and reference guides
- Design and implement assessment instruments to measure transfer of learning and evaluate the effectiveness of specific corporate training programs
- Possess excellent presentation skills
- Willing to travel up to 25% to for various Company meetings and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, HVAC Engineering, or a related field
- Technical experience in the installation or service of residential or commercial HVAC equipment
- Working knowledge of refrigeration and electrical circuits
- 3 years of training experience building and delivering content for live classroom environments or a combination of education and experience
- Entry knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories
- Proficiency with software including MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Articulate 360 (Storyline) and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $72,800 and $100,100 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
