Assistant/Associate Sports Management Professor

Midland University, a private, liberal-arts college in Fremont, Nebraska with a large population of student athletes is seeking a dynamic and innovative full-time faculty member as Assistant/Associate professor in Sports Management.

Duties include:

  1. Primary teaching responsibilities include a variety of courses in sport management/management (may include Game Day Operations, Intro to Sport Management, Fan Experience & Event Management, and the Sports Administration Capstone. Teaching load is 24 credits/year (4 courses/term)
  2. Lead the development and delivery of quality outcomes-based business curriculum.
  3. Partners across the university on student recruiting, retention, and graduation.
  4. Promotes operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  5. Innovative teaching using a market-place back approach.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in relevant field; doctorate preferred
  • Relevant and practical experience in the sports industry
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching in the classroom or in other environments
  • Agility and flexibility to adjust to changes in the sport industry
  • A strong professional network and interest in developing community partnerships.
  • Passion for developing students as professionals
  • Evidence of innovative thinking and action
