Job Summary
The Elementary School Assistant Principal is responsible for supporting the School Principal in overseeing student life and promoting academic excellence within the elementary school. This role requires providing leadership and guidance in areas such as student discipline, academic programs, spiritual development, staff development, and school operations. The Assistant Principal will work closely with teachers, staff, students, and parents to ensure a nurturing, academically rigorous, and spiritually enriching environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of instructional strategies and academic programs to support student success.
- Observe and evaluate teaching methods, curriculum, and learning materials, ensuring spiritual integration and academic standards.
- Collaborate with the school principal to ensure that academic and behavioral objectives are aligned with the school's vision and mission.
- Provide leadership and support to the faculty, staff, and students by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school.
- Assume the role of the school principal in their absence, ensuring smooth and efficient school operations.
- Assist in employee performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional growth.
- Interview, hire, and orient new staff in collaboration with the school principal.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum standards, performance goals, and instructional strategies.
- Plan and lead professional development activities to support teachers, administrators, and staff in achieving educational objectives.
- Promote the integration of technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
- Provide counseling and guidance to students regarding academic, behavioral, or emotional issues.
- Facilitate communication between parents, staff, and students to address academic progress, behavioral concerns, and school policies.
- Address and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner, fostering a positive and supportive school culture.
- Assist in planning and coordinating class schedules, ensuring that they align with educational priorities and resources.
- Support the tracking and reporting of student attendance.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity, ethical standards, and professionalism.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive school environment where students, staff, and parents feel valued and supported.
- Exhibit adaptability and flexibility in the face of changing priorities and challenges.
- Model the mission and values of the organization, promoting spiritual development and growth among students.
- Perform other duties as required to support the ministry’s overall mission.
Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, including cognitive, emotional, and social growth, to ensure the school environment is conducive to student success and well-being.
- Ability to support and guide teachers in developing effective instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with the ability to address and resolve challenges creatively and efficiently, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general principles, practices and techniques of family and community engagement that increase parental involvement and directly impact student achievement.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and more than 40 pounds infrequently with assistance.
