Women’s Gymnastics Assistant Coach

Serve as a key member of the coaching staff in a Division I NCAA gymnastics program within a premier military academy, providing leadership in athlete development, recruiting, operations, and culture-building. Support cadet-athletes in achieving excellence across athletic, academic, and military domains by delivering high-level technical coaching, individualized training plans, and total person mentorship. Uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance while fostering a championship culture rooted in discipline, accountability, and team-first values.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all recruiting operations in alignment with NCAA, institutional, and Academy standards—evaluating talent, fostering relationships with prospective scholar-athletes and club coaches, and coordinating on-campus visits to attract individuals capable of excelling in a rigorous military-academic-athletic environment
  • Demonstrate excellent coaching competencies regarding sport skill instruction, motivation, strength & conditioning and tactical strategies
  • Design a competitive schedule that maximizes cadet-athlete development and performance
  • Maintains team social media in accordance with athletic department, academy, and head coach standards
  • Provide leadership in the personal development of each cadet-athlete
  • Coordinate various aspects of the program, including daily operations, team travel, recruiting logistics, equipment, meals, technical logistics of current software packages
  • Support the planning and execution of summer camps and clinics to grow program visibility and foster community engagement
  • Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior adherence to NCAA, Conference, Academy and Division of Athletics rules and regulations
  • This position will travel for competitions and recruiting. Will be expected to work irregular hours to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as the schedule is determined by the Cadet Wing and Head Gymnastics coach.
  • Proactively uphold the outstanding working relationships within the athletic department, academy, USA Gymnastics club coaches and NCAA coaches/universities
  • Coach and develop athletes across all apparatuses, with event specialization as needed based on team needs and individual expertise
  • Assist the Head Coach in the planning, development, and implementation of all training and practice sessions, with a focus on technical and performance improvement
  • Support the total person development of cadet-athletes, including academic support, leadership mentoring, and character building
  • Promote a positive, inclusive team culture rooted in excellence, integrity, and accountability
  • Collaborate with sports performance, athletic training, and academic support staff to ensure the well-being and success of cadet-athlete
  • Represent the program at alumni, fundraising, and community outreach events as directed by the Head Coach
  • Design individualized training plans to support athlete development within the framework of military and academic demand
  • Promote a championship culture that balances athletic achievement with leadership growth and military readiness

Qualifications:

  • Must have a strong work-ethic. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and proper certifications.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background investigation. Random drug testing is required.
