A school district in Davenport, FL is seeking a full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is a contracted role serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role is itinerant, requiring onsite support across seven different schools within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments in grades K-12.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Adapt educational materials and teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Conduct assessments related to visual impairment and municate findings effectively to the educational team.
- Travel between assigned schools to deliver onsite services.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in visual impairment.
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a K-12 educational setting.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and specialists.
- Ability to manage time efficiently while traveling among multiple school locations.
