What Youll Be Doing
Were hiring two full-time Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for the 20252026 school year. Each position is based at a different locationone in Villa Park, IL, and one in Downers Grove, ILserving students across a collaborative network of public schools.
Youll support approximately 67 students with visual impairments in each assignment. This is a 35-hour/week, full-time role beginning August 11, 2025 through June 5, 2026, with potential pre- and post-planning days. Services may include direct instruction, consultative support, material adaptation, and collaboration with classroom teachers and related service teams.

A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

An endorsement as a Deaf-Blind Specialist

Experience working with K12 students with visual impairments

Ability to adapt general education materials, conduct functional vision assessments, and develop accommodations

Comfort working across multiple sites and collaborating with various school teams

Strong communication and case management skills
About the Role
This is a specialized role where your expertise in visual impairments will directly support student success across multiple grade levels. Youll work closely with families, educators, and specialists to ensure access, inclusion, and progress toward IEP goals.

Pay Range: $42$55 per hour, depending on experience and licensure
