Summary

The Curriculum/Communication Coordinator will perform administrative and management duties for The Launching Pad in the absence of the Center Director and Assistant Center Director. Fundraise, plan holiday activities, and oversee classroom curriculum. Facilitate program communication platforms and applications. Assist in daily operations and classrooms as needed. Assist teachers in developing a quality education curriculum that supports the learning goals of the center.

Duties

Staff Development: Help facilitate the Director with training and orienting staff as required by all regulatory bodies. Help facilitate the Director in promoting professional growth of the staff. Help facilitate the Director with creating a cooperative team that addresses the needs of the children in their growth and development.
Support staff by creating teamwork within the classes as well as teamwork within the center as a whole. Assist in teacher observations and evaluations.
Program Development: See that the environment is well organized and aesthetically pleasing. Help facilitate the Director in planning and supervising curriculum and program that meets developmentally appropriate criteria for each age of child served and the guidelines of all regulatory agencies.
Assist the Director in achieving and maintaining NAEYC accreditation and the OKDHS reaching for the stars rating.
Conduct, along with staff, yearly developmental assessments on each child. Encourage and promote open communication with parents.
Plan and supervise fundraisers, scholastic book fairs and holiday activities. File paperwork and coordinate parent teacher conferences.
Communication Facilitation: Ensure that program communication methods are functional and current.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in early childhood setting; significant curriculum development.
  • Strong understanding of child development.
  • Ability to work well with others and to foster a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Ability to stand, walk, run, lift, carry, and kneel.
