About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist who will be responsible for the instructional design, LMS administration, and training facilitation for the organization.

This position is required to be onsite at our Leader Heights York, PA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Learning and Development Manager in coordinating the education process for GIG associates including assessing educational needs; planning, developing and implementing and/or presenting appropriate training; and evaluating educational outcomes.
  • Assist the Learning and Development Manager in the coordination of all aspects of training delivery including technology, instructor materials and tools; audio and video, etc. on day(s) of training.
  • Partner with Learning and Development Manager to design and develop e-learning training programs and knowledge repositories to meet the needs of each business unit.
  • Design, develop, and implement training based on the ADDIE model, including online, virtual, and instructor-led courses.
  • Assist the Learning and Development Manager in the implementation of the LMS, including design, testing, integration, etc.
  • Manage LMS data, reports, structure, maintenance, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited college or university) or Certificate (from ATD or similar organization) in relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a corporate environment in a training function, learning and development, LMS administration or other directly relevant field, service industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, best practices of hybrid instructional design and learning transfer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using software to accomplish course design and online program administration. (Ex. Articulate, Canva, Adobe Express, etc.)
  • Understanding of the ADDIE Instructional Design model.
  • Understanding of LMS functionality, administration, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills with the ability to communicate with small to very large groups and utilize multiple forms of media (formal lecture, workshops, e-learning, live and virtual environments).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with sensitivity to details and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding individual assessments/needs and training and testing results.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative to ensure the successful development of assigned projects, as well as administration of LMS.
