Shu Ren is hiring an IB PYP Elementary School Teacher for the 2025-26 school year!

Shu Ren International School (Pre-K–5th grade) inspires a love of learning through an inquiry-based, Mandarin immersion program that prepares students to thrive in an evolving global society. Founded in Berkeley, California in 2008, Shu Ren is acreditated by WASC and authorization by the International Baccalaureate (IB). YOUR ROLE

As the Shu Ren Elementary School Teacher you will create an inquiry-based, intellectually stimulating, and nurturing learning environment for students while providing supportive feedback and ongoing communication with families, colleagues and supervisors.

• You are passionate about fostering a love for reading and writing while developing essential skills like phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary

• You excel at keeping up-to-date, student assessment data and have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with parents about their student’s learning and development
• You enjoy working collaboratively with other teachers to develop curriculum, as well as plan for and manage school-wide events

Requirements:

• Full professional fluency in English
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Elementary Education or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
• At least two years experience teaching literacy to Kinder and/or first grade students.
• At least two years of work experience teaching in an elementary school
• Fully authorized to work now and in the future in the U.S.
• Experience with teaching the IB PYP curriculum preferred
