Summary
Black River Area Child Care Center is looking for a caring and dependable Assistant Childcare Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. The Assistant Teacher will help with classroom activities, supervision, and daily care routines while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Pay based on experience.
Duties
Classroom Support Child Engagement:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities.
- Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop emotional and self-regulation skills.
Child Supervision Care:
- Monitor children to ensure a safe and healthy environment at all times.
- Assist with mealtime, diapering, toileting, and nap time routines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas.
Teamwork Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to create a supportive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding daily activities and child progress.
- Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.
Professional Development Growth:
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Be open to learning and implementing best practices in early childhood education.
- Support the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and setting up activities.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children.
- Additional requirements to be discussed prior to first day working with children.
