Summary

Black River Area Child Care Center is looking for a caring and dependable Assistant Childcare Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. The Assistant Teacher will help with classroom activities, supervision, and daily care routines while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Pay based on experience.

Duties

Classroom Support Child Engagement:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
  • Engage with children through play, storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop emotional and self-regulation skills.

Child Supervision Care:

  • Monitor children to ensure a safe and healthy environment at all times.
  • Assist with mealtime, diapering, toileting, and nap time routines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas.

Teamwork Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to create a supportive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding daily activities and child progress.
  • Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.

Professional Development Growth:

  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Be open to learning and implementing best practices in early childhood education.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and setting up activities.



Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children.
  • Additional requirements to be discussed prior to first day working with children.



Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children
  • CPR
  • Wisconsin Registry Certificate
