This is a temporary position and the length of assignment is estimated to go from July 2025 through December 31, 2025. The length of the assignment is always dependent on business need and dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, if selected, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency that we would connect you with.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Health Services Supervisor, this position:
- Processes basic incoming treatment and referral authorization requests and verifies member plan eligibility
- Performs basic research on member authorization requests

- Knowledge of:

- Working knowledge of standard business office practices and equipment
- Some knowledge of medical terminology or billing codes procedures
- Some knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service
- Ability to:

- Ability to verify eligibility information utilizing various organizational sources
- Ability to interpret, explain, and apply processes, policies and procedures
- Ability to quickly learn each line of business conducted by the health plan
- Ability to quickly learn and skillfully navigate Alliance computer systems
- Ability to identify, maintain, and protect Personal Health Information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and follow Alliance policies and procedures to ensure the security of such information
- Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in the health care field.

- An Associate's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment, and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
- In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
