Job Title: Part-Time Math & English Instructor (High School/College Students)

Location: Jersey City, NJ
Are you a high school or college student with a passion for Math and English? Do you love helping others understand challenging concepts? JEI Learning Center in Jersey City is looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our team as Part-Time Math & English Instructors!
At JEI Learning Center, we empower students to achieve academic excellence through individualized learning programs. We believe in fostering a supportive and engaging environment where students can build confidence and master essential skills. As an instructor, you'll play a vital role in guiding our students on their educational journey to high school and beyond.
This is a fantastic opportunity for bright and motivated high school and college students who excel in Math and English to gain valuable teaching experience, develop leadership skills, and earn income in a flexible, after-school and weekend schedule.
What you'll do:
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in Math and/or English to students of various age levels (elementary to middle school, potentially high school depending on your expertise).
- Review and grade student work, providing constructive feedback.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with lead instructors and center directors.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Help students develop strong study habits and a love for learning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in high school or college, demonstrating strong academic performance.
- Exceptional proficiency and a genuine passion for Math and/or English. (Please specify which subjects you excel in when applying).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous tutoring or mentoring experience is a plus, but not required – we'll provide training!
Schedule:
- Afternoon/Evening shifts on weekdays (typically 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
- Weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday mornings/afternoons)
