Middle School Learning Specialist
To Begin August 2025
The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle School Learning Specialist to join our community as a leave replacement for part of the 2025–2026 school year.
Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented and dedicated Middle School Learning professional who will engage and inspire students, foster strong communication with parents and colleagues, and contribute to our mission of developing students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens.
Responsibilities

Provide academic support to students in both skill development and content areas.

Foster executive functioning, self-advocacy, and other strategies for student success.

Work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate and support differentiated instruction.

Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, teachers and outside professionals.

Provide direct support through our Center for Academic Support (CAS).

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field required.

Prior experience working with middle school students preferred.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation
Pay rate: approximately $200/day
