A dedicated and compassionate professional is sought to provide crucial support as an Intervention Specialist (Special Education Teacher) in a high school alternative/transitional educational setting. This full-time position, based in North Randall, Ohio, is structured as an 11-month renewable assignment and includes an extended school year component, allowing for a break in July.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience working with high school students in special education preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Location:
Medina, OH
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with general education staff and service providers
- Deliver direct instruction and support in both inclusive and small-group settings
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support student transition goals and life skills development
- Adapt curriculum and modify instruction as needed
