Blazer Jobs is actively hiring a qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) for a full-time contract opportunity within a school district in Seattle, WA for the 20252026 school year.

Typical Job Duties:

Provide orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments, enabling safe, independent navigation in school and community settings

Conduct assessments and develop individualized O&M instructional plans based on student needs and IEP goals

Teach use of canes, adaptive devices, public transportation, and spatial awareness

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure consistency and progress

Support transition planning for older students gaining independence

Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility or related field

Current certification through ACVREP (Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals)

Eligibility for Washington State licensure or authorization as required by the school district

Experience working with school-aged children preferred

Strong communication and documentation skills
