Pay:Starting at 50 an Hour

Blazer Jobs is actively hiring a qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) for a full-time contract opportunity within a school district in Seattle, WA for the 20252026 school year.

Typical Job Duties:

  • Provide orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments, enabling safe, independent navigation in school and community settings

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized O&M instructional plans based on student needs and IEP goals

  • Teach use of canes, adaptive devices, public transportation, and spatial awareness

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure consistency and progress

  • Support transition planning for older students gaining independence

  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility or related field

  • Current certification through ACVREP (Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals)

  • Eligibility for Washington State licensure or authorization as required by the school district

  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred

  • Strong communication and documentation skills
