This role focuses on fostering an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere for children with diverse educational needs, specifically within a self-contained classroom for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with each student's unique requirements.
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to enhance students' learning experiences and outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP documentation as required by state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching license from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
