Job Title: Full-Time School Social Worker
Location: Flint, Michigan (New Standard Academy & Madison Academy)
Caseload Split:

New Standard Academy: 1 day/week
- Madison Academy: 4 days/week
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Position Duration: Start ASAP End of School Year
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate School Social Worker to serve students at two public charter schools in Flint, Michigan: New Standard Academy and Madison Academy. This full-time position will be split between the two sites, providing both general education support and specialized services for students with IEPs.
The successful candidate will be committed to promoting student success through proactive mental health support, family engagement, and educational collaboration. This role requires an active Michigan School Social Work license along with a valid 310 letter.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and indirect social work services to general education and special education students across both campuses.

Provide individual and group counseling, behavior intervention support, and social-emotional learning strategies.

Manage and implement services as outlined in IEPs for eligible students, ensuring compliance and quality of care.

Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and parents/guardians to create student-centered support plans.

Conduct progress monitoring and data collection to track outcomes and inform adjustments to interventions.

Facilitate referrals to outside agencies and community resources when needed.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation aligned with state and district guidelines.

Foster a positive, inclusive environment that reflects trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
Requirements:

Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.

Active Michigan School Social Work License.

Valid 310 Letter (required).

Experience working in school-based settings with both general and special education students preferred.

Strong skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and culturally competent care.
