CTAE Engineering Teacher

Job Title: High School CTAE Engineering Teacher

Reports To: Principal

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: 190 Days

SalaryRange: $49,763-101,980 (Based on Educational Level and Experience)

Job Summary: Provides instruction in selected areas of Engineering to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and post secondary opportunities

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Certification/Licensure: Most hold or be eligible for a valid Technololgy certificatefrom GaPSC

Areas of specialization: Engineering and Technology

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowldge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven communication and instructional strategies
  • Classroom management skills
  • Excellent organization skills both orally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational skills

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom/lab/construction environment (indoor or outdoor)

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
  • May requires stooping or crouching

Essential Duties:

  • Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory and co-curricular experience
  • Provides instruction and projects based on program guidelines and requirement
  • Provides leadership opportunities for students by serving as an advisor for a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), i.e Technology Student Assocation (TSA), which includes time after school, travel, fundraising, etc. with students
  • Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment
  • Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program
  • Provides a classroom enviroment which promotes active learning in the subject area
  • Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, school, business partners and county leadership
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Follows all county, state and federal policies and procedures
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attends school, district and state level professional learning activities as directed
  • Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
  • Seeks and maintains professional learning activities through State endorsed professional organizations, i.e. ACTE, GACTE, CTAERN
  • Facilitates home to school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning and sending written communication
  • Integrates appropraite technology into classroom instruction
  • Avoids behaviors that detract from staff morale
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriare administrator
