Overview:

IBTCI seeks to engage a Young and Emerging Evaluator (YEE) to contribute to UNICEF evaluations while gaining hands-on experience in applied research and learning. This position is intended to build regional evaluation capacity and provide mentorship for early-career professionals.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support literature reviews, data entry, and documentation tasks.
  • Assist in qualitative or quantitative data collection, including transcription, note-taking, and basic analysis.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and debriefs.
  • Contribute to fieldwork preparation, logistics, and instrument testing.
  • Assist in formatting and compiling annexes, data summaries, and presentations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in social sciences, public health, development, or a related field.
  • Up to 0-5 years of monitoring and evaluation experience
  • Demonstrated interest or coursework in M&E or research methods.
  • Familiarity with Excel and basic research tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, Google Forms).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Based in or from a country in the WCA region.
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a diverse team.

Working Environment:

Remote with international travel up to 25%, including to field and hard-to-reach locations.

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the consultant’s country of residence. IBTCI does not sponsor visas for consultants.
