A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in a school setting. This is an in-person, contract role based in Gillette, WY, for the duration of the normal school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Adapt curriculum and teaching materials to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop effective instructional plans
- Utilize assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Train students in the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and academic achievement
Qualifications:
- Certification in teaching students with visual impairments or equivalent licensure
- Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of assessment and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
